Hello darlings!
So, the amazing Nikita from Prose & Pancakes has nominated me to the Blogger Recognition Award!!
Thank you so much, Nikita! I am super grateful for that (even though it took me ages to respond, sorry!) — GO FOLLOW HER RIGHT AWAY!!
Rules:
1. Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
2. Write a post to show your award.
3. Give a brief story of how your blog started.
4. Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
5. Select up to fifteen bloggers you want to give this award to.
6. Comment (or pingback) on each blog to let them know that you’ve nominated them and provide a link to the post you’ve created.
How did I start my blog?
Honestly, it wasn’t any big moment?
I reviewed books on GoodReads for a while now and it felt like a time to move things up. I decided to try it out and see if it fits. And it did! I love it here and it’s a great creative outlet and a place to talk to people.
But getting here was an experiment. I had the time and I wanted something new.
My advice to new bloggers:
Try out what works for you. Don’t be afraid to experiment.
It took me a while but now I’m in a place where I’m content with how my blog looks like and what content I produce but I had no idea what I was doing half a year ago.
I tried things and switched it up until I found something I liked.
Don’t be anxious to talk to other bloggers. Most of them LOVE interacting.
At the beginning I didn’t know what blogging etiquette should I follow.
I was afraid to come off as too forward or annoying or whatever else. I have awful social anxiety so it’s a constant battle for me. But blogging helped me a lot with casual interaction.
If you love something say that! Want to write a long ass comment because you have so much thoughts? Go for it! Loved the post but have no idea what to say? It’s ok! No comment is too short!
Just interact with people because blogging is a social experience and you’ll feel more like a part of this community!

Thank you for nominating me! I started out on goodreads too, but then it really was too limiting for any bookish content that wasn’t strictly a review.

No problem ❤ Yes! I even tried those GR groups but it's just self promo and dead conversations on there… Here I can just post whatever crazy idea I have and hope someone engages!

Thanks for nominating me, E! 💞 I totally agree with your advice to new bloggers, especially on the interacting with people. I think for the most part lots of bloggers love interacting (I know I’m always leaving long ass comments everywhere LMAO) but it’s also a good way of meeting others in the community but also a great way to see how other blogs do things. Great post!

No problem, Dini! ❤ Yes, interacting with people is the best part of blogging! And I love your long ass comments!! Without the interaction we may as well be just writing in a diary 😀

Great post! I can probably not count myself as a new blogger anymore, but I still feel like it, so I needed that advice 🙂

Haha! I feel like no matter how long we will be here it never feels like enough or like we know it all! But the good thing is that together we can figure something out and that’s why interacting is so important 🙂

Thank you for tagging me in this!
Only half a year?! I still don’t have any idea what I’m doing, and it’s been two years. xD I just … fake it. The experimenting thing is fabulous advice, though. It takes some time to develop your voice and find your niche and how you enjoy doing things. It’s a whole different set of skills that most people don’t use.
The interaction thing is so on point, too! I didn’t realize, early on, that blog hopping and commenting was a thing. I’m so glad I figured it out, though! I love finding new blogs, and this bookish community is just fabulous.

No problem, Sammie!
Yeah, faking it is a way to go! 😀 I used to stress about everything but now I just act the act and treat it as a constant project in development 🙂
I don’t blog hop nearly often enough but YES! I’m still struggling to be social, even online and I feel like I’m not interacting enough but I love the social part of blogging and getting out of my shell 🙂
