May Wrap Up

Hello darlings!

How was your May? For me it went by so fast I didn’t even notice! What was I even doing?

Anyway, I had a huge paranormal mysteries streak and that’s basically all I’ve read this month.

As usual — more about me at the end of the post.

PINSGETTING VULNERABLE: Books Close to My Heart & Soul

In this post I share books which moved me, which are a part of me, in which I can see myself.

So, yeah, I’m talking about myself and if you want to indulge me and hear me out I’ll be forever grateful!!

PINS2READING — How do I pick a book?

Here, I share all my quirks regarding picking my next read.

I’m a huge mood reader so finding a book to read is A Process to me but also there are some other things that play a role here. What things? Click the pic to find out!!

πŸ“Œ Art Spotlight

So, I made myself a new icon again! I’m finally satisfied so I’ll be sticking to this one

πŸ“Œ Personal

I’m still carying on with my driving course — I had 7 hours behind the wheel so far! I still kind of suck at it but we’re making progress lmao. Hopefully I will be better soon.

This ate into my art time though so I’m not drawing or painting much — my new icon was pretty much all I painted. Maybe I’ll manage something Pride themed in June?

Anyway, Corona finally made it to my town so even with loosened restrictions in my country I’m still terrified. That’s not new though.

I’m sort of feeling burnt out or that I’m somehow not creative enough on this blog — which is out of nowhere because my views are over 1k for the third month straight but I need some new way of coming up with ideas. Right now I feel like everything I do must be the most original thing ever and that’s not easy on a regular basis, three times a week.

Okay! That’s enough of negativity. I also got into queer Asian dramas and I’ll have a huge rec list for you at some point — there are still a lot of them on my to watch list. Do you know any good ones? Especially if they have more rep than just m/m?

  1. I’m glad you had such a good reading month but I’m sorry you’re burnt out! Also everyone is rubbish at driving at first but you’ll soon get the hang of it πŸ™‚

Personally, May was a bit all over the place for me. It started out really well but eventually I just got into a slump. Ugh.

    1. Thank you! I hope I’ll get over it soon. I’m having some new ideas but it takes time to build them up. Haha! I hope so! I’m trying so hard but I feel like nothing sticks with me

Oh, I’m sorry about that! I hope you can get over it in June ❀

  2. Wow you had a fantastic month!! Sorry about the burn out though! Only managed to read 7/8 books in May myself (Though I did read the translation of Mo Dao Zu Shi which is very long so it wasn’t too bad!) Love your new Icon!! I look forward to seeing any of your Pride themed art/content if you get around to it! Great post!! ❀ πŸ˜€

    1. Thank you! I hope I can get over it soon and think up some Pride themed posts still in time. That’s a lot too! I don’t think I’ve read more the month I read MDZS as well πŸ˜€ It’s so long!! Thank you!! That’s my fav one from those I painted so far πŸ™‚ ❀

      1. You’re welcome! I look forward to them if you do! Thankyou, ahhh it is very long πŸ˜‚ but totally worth it I adored MDZS so much that I ended up watching the donghua, the untamed and reading the Manhua – such a good story and the characters! You’re welcome, it is a brilliant painting! πŸ˜ŠπŸ’œπŸ₯°

          1. The translation is not as good in the manhua but it is (so far) less censored than the donghua and The Untamed, as far as I remember anyway! The drama is amazing despite being censored they still manage to show the love between WangXian pretty well the actors are phenomenal! The donghua is also censored but is very faithful to the story as a whole so far! πŸ’œ I loved them all! The manhua and donghua are unfinished atm though which is a shame!

  3. I love the way you use extra icons to show rep! I’m sorry you’re feeling burnt out. It was happening to me in April, too. We have to just remember to set aside time for self care. I’m really looking forward to that queer Asian dramas list! ❀️

    1. Thank you! I saw other bloggers do this and it looked cute and colourful! Yeah, I may take a break in July — I want to be here for the Pride but then it would be nice to take a week or two off. Yay! I’ll start drafting it then πŸ™‚ ❀

  4. Wow you’ve had such a fantastic reading month, I’m so happy you enjoyed We Unleash the Merciless Storm! I loved this duology so, so much. πŸ™‚
I’m sorry you’ve been feeling a little burnt out lately and I hope this will pass. Take time for yourself, scroll down old posts, read blogs and I’m sure the inspiration and spark will come back soon ❀
    I hope you'll have a lovely month! ❀

    1. Thank you, Marie! Yes, it was amazing — it wasn’t a 5 star for me but I loved the tension, the pace, the sharpness of Dani, and the heart of Carmen! Wonderful! I hope it will pass soon as well — I think I have many ideas but most of them need time and I’m too stubborn to focus on something simpler for the time being? If that makes sense πŸ˜€
Thank you! I hope you do as well! ❀

      1. That completely makes sense! Sometimes I have these ideas, but I just don’t have the time or strength or that little spark of inspiration to really tackle them for now. It will come though!! ❀
