Hello Darlings!
So, beyond reading, I am a HUGE Critical Role fan and I decided that it finally has to make an appearance on my blog.
And what would be better than to rec to the characters I love so much some SAPPHIC BOOKS??
Nothing.
So, tune in for some geekness and gay!

Molly Tealeaf

The Scapegraces by Hannah Abigail Clarke
And outcast finds their place in a specific crowd and forms a found family.
Deadline by Stephanie Ahn
Blood magic.
Fjord

Ice Massacre by Tiana Warner
A women-only crew out to fight the sea creatures (mermaids).
Princeless: Raven the Pirate Princess by Jeremy Whitley
Another sea story — this time about a pirate princess and a captain of a women-only crew with a love triangle I actually liked.
Deadline by Stephanie Ahn
Trying to form a pact with a questionable creature to find their parental figure.
Jester Lavorre

Lumberjanes by Noelle Stevenson
I feel like Jester would love their shenanigans and it would remind her of the shenanigans she used to get up to with the Traveller.
Sunstone by Stjepan Šejić
I had to rec her something dirty so why not a great BDSM sapphic story.
Magic, Murder & Mistletoe by Ellen Jane
It’s mostly for Jester AND Veth because they’re the detectives but also it’s more for Jester because there’re some cookies involved.
Caleb Widogast

Kiss Me Every Day by Dena Blake
Caleb also has that day, which ruined everything for him and which he would like to relive and make right.
The Abyss Surrounds Us by Emily Skrutskie
If you look at it from the right angle, it’s a book about the love of your pet. (Hello Frumpkin)
Stormsong by C.L. Polk
A story about a girl who has done something really bad to her brother, then something good, and now has to deal with the consequences of both with a revolution in the air and her previous ‘allies’ in the way.
Not the Brave/Veth Brenatto

Ice Massacre by Tiana Warner
Full of crossbow-shooting ocean-hating girls.
Of Gryphons and Other Monsters by Shannon McGee
Again, the Main Character here shoots a crossbow.
A Little Light Mischief by Cat Sebastian
Featuring a former thief and a good mother, I think Veth would like that one.
Iron & Velvet by Alexis Hall
The way Kate Kane is into all those monster ladies reminds me of Nott and a certain minotaur.
In the Vanishers’ Palace by Aliette de Bodard
Again, you have a dragon lady with kids. Nott would romance that.
Yasha Nydoorin

A Curse of Roses by Diana Pinguicha
I feel like Yasha would love and hate that book because she’s the lover of flowers but also she’s soft and she would feel sorry for the starving people.
We are Okay by Nina LaCourby
It’s a story about a loss of an important person and dealing with the pain. Yasha has lost so much…
Girl, Serpent, Thorn by Melissa Bashardoust
I think Yasha sometimes thinks of herself as a monster and this book would help her deal with those thoughts.
The Grim Assistant by Jodi Hutchins
A second chance at life, this would probably make her think of her wife.
On a Sunbeam by Tillie Walden
The MC here is chasing a memory of her first girlfriend to get some closure, just like Yasha is chasing the memory of her wife.
Afterlove by Tanya Byrne
It’s a story about getting more time with a person you love after death. And about becoming a grim reaper. So goth.
Who I was with Her by Nita Tyndall
Grieving after a death of a girlfriend.
Caduceus Clay

Wilder Girls by Rory Power
I feel like he would like the crazy nature here (or hate it, it’s 50-50).
The Soulstealers by Jacqueline Rohrbach
He is not a druid but he is also on a similar mission the MC ends up on, to restore the wildness that has gone wrong.
The Tea Dragon Society by Katie O’Neill
Yes, it’s about the tea.
Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir
I mean, he’s the grave cleric, they move bones in the book. He would have fun.
Beauregard Lionett

Anyone but You by Chelsea M. Cameron
It’s about two fit ladies, I mean, do I have to say more?
Love is for Losers by Wibke Brueggemann
I feel like this is more about Beau from the beginning but she gives off that vibe of hating on love before realising ‘oh, but I can love girls’
The Avant-Guards by Carly Usdin
Again, girls playing sports. She would just vibe.
Heavy Vinyl by Carly Usdin
Girls kicking asses and selling vinyls. I feel like she would relate to being a monk and a librarian?
Upright Women Wanted by Sarah Gailey
Law-breaking librarians on horses! She would love that! Librarians supplying people with forbidden books!!

- Do you watch/listen to CR? What books would you rec for the Mighty Nein?

This post’s concept is amazing!! (It’s inspiring me to do a post like this for my favourite books now.) I haven’t watched/listened to Critical Role but I’ve seen quite a lot of fanart for it (at least Jester – I recognise her for sure).

AHHH I LOVE this post!! I have to admit I have no idea what Critical Role is until I Googled, but recommending sapphic books to characters?? This is an awesome idea! Also perfectly guilty for adding way too many books to my TBR. (Is there such a thing as too many??)

THANK YOU, HSINJU!! Haha, yeah, it’s a popular podcast but podcasts are still not that popular to be as recognisable as, e.g., TV shows 😀 Feel free to steal the idea! Let’s make it a thing 🙂 And there’s never too many sapphic books!! Just not enough time to read ❤
